Dry eye is very common in the adult population. It has been reported that as many as 60% of the population reports symptoms of dry eye. The prevalence of dry eye increases with age, especially after the age of 40, and with gender, a higher incidence is reported in females. Dry eye is also higher in contact lens wearers and following refractive surgery (LASIK).

   
   
Dr. Gemoules has considerable experience working with patients who are at risk for dry eye. He performs special tests to diagnose dry eye, and offers a variety of treatment modalities including artificial tears, pharmacological therapy, and punctal occlusion.
