Eye Exam

Since vision changes can occur without you noticing them, it is recommended to have your eyes checked annually. During the eye exam, Dr. Gemoules performs a thorough external and internal assessment, including dilation, to check:

  • The ability to see clearly at near and far distances
  • The ability to change focus efficiently and comfortably
  • The ability to use both eyes as a team
  • The ability to see colors and to the side
  • The proper functioning of the eyelids – oil glands, lashes, and tear drainage system
  • Vision conditions, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia
  • General health conditions, like diabetes and high blood pressure, can often be detected in the eyes
  • Eye diseases

Dr. Gemoules is licensed in the State of Texas as a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. To become an optometric glaucoma specialist in the State of Texas, Dr. Gemoules completed additional training in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. Annual continuing education is required to maintain this designation.

As a therapeutic optometrist, Dr. Gemoules is highly qualified to diagnose and treat eye diseases and disorders as defined by the Texas Optometry Board, including:
