Dr. “leukoma” is the original Internet persona of Dr. Gemoules.

In 1999 when he began consulting for the popular website devoted to refractive surgery complications, Surgical Eyes, Dr. leukoma became the “Dear Abby” of refractive surgery complications and problems. Since that time, he has assisted thousands of patients with his online consultations and knowledge.

Based on his work with failed refractive surgery cases, Dr. Gemoules/leukoma developed an expertise in designing and fitting custom contact lenses. Through Internet-based discussion boards, word-of-mouth soon spread about post-refractive surgical patients who were successfully treated by a doctor from Coppell, Texas. Soon a continuous procession of post-refractive surgical patients who had all but given up hope visited Dr. Gemoules. His patients have traveled from the across the United States, Canada, South America, and Europe.
